Answer |
NAVTEC’s
skill development training programmes are aimed at enhancing
the skills of Pakistani youth. Such training would
enhance your skills which will help you in getting a
better paid job both in Pakistan and abroad. Track
record shows that persons who attended NAVTEC training
have got jobs soon after such training.

I get a certificate for the NAVTEC training? |
Answer |
Yes,
all successful participants of NAVTEC skill development
courses are awarded certificates. These certificates
are recognized in Pakistan and abroad.

Do
I need to pay any fee to the participating institution
of NAVTEC skills training programme? |
Answer |
No,
all these skills development courses are initiated on
the directive of the President and under Prime Minister’s
initiative for skills development. NAVTEC pay
on your behalf to the participating institution all
admission and other fees. Moreover, all participants
are paid a monthly stipend of Rs. 1000/-

all students get admission in the courses advertised
by NAVTEC and collaborating institutions? |
Answer |
The
participating technical and vocational training institutions
cannot accommodate all the students who apply for training.
In case many students apply for a course, the admission
is done on the basis of merit and interview.

which cities are the skills development courses organized? |
Answer |
Skills
development courses are organized in all major cities
of Pakistan, from Chitral to Karachi, from Lahore to
Peshawar and from Faisalabad to Quetta. For information

are the subject areas / priority sectors for the skills
development courses |
Answer |
NAVTEC,
in collaboration with best technical and vocational
training institutions, organize courses in the sectors
where there is a skills shortage or those sectors which
have the potential for job creation. For example construction
sector, hospitality & tourism sector, dairy &
livestock, retail & marketing, medical technology,
nursing, etc. NAVTEC also organize special courses for
women such as front desk assistant / receptionist, accounts
assistant, beautician, dress designing & making,
AutoCAD, and office automation & management.

Will
NAVTEC establish new institutions to ensure geographical
coverage throughout Pakistan? |
Answer |
In
line with the government’s vision to ensure geographical
coverage of technical and vocational training institutions
at district and tehsil levels, the provincial bodies
established for promotion of technical education and
vocational training will establish technical education
and vocational training institutions in existing government
buildings. NAVTEC will provide necessary support
to those provincial bodies.

What
role will NAVTEC play for revamping TVET sector? |
Answer |
At
present our technical and vocational education and training
(TVET) is not according to the market needs. Our
economy now needs skilled people who can compete in
the globalized world. NAVTEC therefore plans to
revise the curricula, devise skills standards and certification,
train the trainers, and establish centres of excellence
in sectors which can lead to further economic development.
This will produce a human resource base that is responsive
to the national and international demands for skilled
manpower.

No,
NAVTEC is not a training provider. To overcome
the shortage of skilled labour, NAVTEC collaborates
with best TVET institutions organize training programmes.
These training programmes are carried out under the
directive of the President and the Prime Minister’s
initiative for skills development. |
